We did not start a fashion house. We returned to one.
Our story
Our family has worked cloth for centuries. Handloom weaving, carried along the silk routes of South Asia, in the craft our forebears knew as Soot Katna. For generations the finest materials, and the deepest knowledge of them, came from these hands. Much of that was later borrowed, relabelled, and sold back to the world without a name.
VALAJI is where that knowledge returns to its source. This is not nostalgia. It is provenance.
One house, two brands
VALAJI is the apex. Heritage luxury, hand-wrought, a deliberately small number of pieces each year. It is shown by private appointment and at trunk shows.
VALAJI MILANO is what you find here. Ready-to-wear made in Milano from regenerative and organic material, across women's, men's and children's.
The fabric is the brief
We design around the cloth and let it shape the cut. Every collection answers a single question, asked before a pattern is cut: how would our forebears dress the world today?
What we make
We work organic cotton, hemp, banana and orange fibre, and other plant-based materials, into soft breathable fabrics that return to the earth at the end of their life. You will not find polyester on our looms, or in your wardrobe.
How we work
Small, considered runs. Slow making means no dead stock, and room for the quiet variations that make a garment yours alone. We work with family-run mills that share our regard for fair wages, clean water and safe workplaces.

Natural fibre is cool against the skin, and it breaks down when its life is over. The craft behind it began long before polyester, and will outlast it.
